Overview: The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll and assisting the HR Manager.
Major Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits
- Processes bi-monthly payrolls, periodic bonus, and one-off payrolls (as needed)
- Works with Paylocity to review and process monthly and quarterly payroll taxes.
- Works with Paylocity to process annual W-2’s.
- Manage, process, and reconcile employee benefit (401k, HSA, FSA, etc.) and health insurance accounts, preparing accruals and reconciling sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Oversee and manage workers compensation reporting and audits
- Ensuring compliance with current government regulations
HR Assistance
- Assists HR Manager with a variety of administrative tasks.
- Back-up for HR Manager in processing new employee on-boarding and termination tasks.
- Help manage employee changes in demographics, anniversaries, and related adjustments
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred. Minimum 3 years of payroll experience preferred.
- Experience in Paylocity payroll system is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effectiveness in telephone and personal contacts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess competency with computers and printers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software programs.
- Ability to solve problems and multi-task.
- Exemplifies the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in professional and personal matters.
- Maintains a professional image in dress and grooming.
Physical Demands
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g., processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, etc.)
- May be required to perform occasional light physical labor.
